Our restaurant
The Unterwirt restaurant in Gufidaun has existed 1960. The house has been mentioned first in 1370 when it was a harbourage.
The business is now in the hands of the 3rd generation of the Haselwanter family.
Originally the local pub, Thomas and Connie Haselwanter have renovated it so that it is now a " pleasure palace of culinary enjoyment".
In the original, traditional parlour meals are served with a close attention to detail.
The restaurant has been rewarded on numerous occasions.
When one asks Thomas Haselwanter what the secret of his cooking is, he answers without hesitation - to preserve the naturalness of the ingredients.
Which is why he insists on only the best, the freshest and seasonally available products.
Thus it could be that the raspberries for your delicious dessert have been picked from the neighbour`s garden around the corner.
As well as the Unterwirt cuisine the three parlours must be mentioned.
Should one take a seat in the thirteenth century Gothic parlour, one is immediately aware that the South Tyrolean tradition is still alive and well.
This preserved jewel of farmhouse architecture provides just the right atmosphere for a romantic evening or a meal with a group of friends.
